Deadfellaz x Dim Mak: Exclusive Collection
Landing just in time for Halloween, we have partnered with Steve Aoki, the two-time Grammy-nominated DJ/producer, and his record label/apparel collection Dim Mak to create a limited edition capsule collection, for release on October 29, 2022. The “Deadfellaz x Dim Mak” custom capsule collection, designed collaboratively by Deadfellaz, Aoki, and the Dim Mak team, and illustrated by Deadfellaz illustrator Leon Lee, will include skate decks, tees and hoodies that will become available in-person at the highly-anticipated Deadfellaz Halloween event DEADZONE LA on the same date (October 29th) in Los Angeles.
DEADZONE LA is a one-night, ticketed event curated by Deadfellaz that will be the must-attend Halloween event of the season — a celebration where the Deadfellaz community (known as The Horde) gathers for a night to remember, featuring live art and music in both the real world and metaverse. The event takes place October 29th in LA’s Arts District at Skylight ROW DTLA. Guests will be transported into the world of Deadfellaz, inducing a multi-sensory experience, with DJs, performers, food & beverages, and more. The evening’s party vibe will be curated by world-renowned party throwers EMO NITE who will be DJing throughout the night.
The centerpiece of the collection is an extremely rare, limited-edition varsity jacket available exclusively to A0k1verse and Deadfellaz holders and will be sold online following the event; each jacket will be microchipped to redeem a twin asset of the jacket, as a digital wearable. The collection will be made available for sale to the greater community and fans after the event on dimmakcollection.com.
“Working with Steve has been so fun. He has embraced Web3 and helped shape the space as it is so far, which has been especially impactful given his incredible success given his incredible success in a multitude of spaces like music, fashion, art, tech, and more. This collaboration comes a year after Steve DJ’d an exclusive set for The Horde at our very first Deadfellaz metaverse event last Halloween, so it feels very special to us.” Betty, Deadfellaz.
Aoki will join Betty and Psych this Friday for their weekly #FellazFriday Twitter Space to discuss the collaboration more in-depth with their communities. Tune in at 5pm PT on Friday, October 14th.
“NFTs and Web3 are the future — it has been such an adventure to create alongside pioneers such as Betty and Psych of the Deadfellaz Horde. Deadfellaz is an incredible project and a community that I am proud to also be a part of. I am honored to drop this collaboration for our Horde and share our passion with the world — the pieces are colorful, effervescent, and luxurious; I can’t wait to rock them!” — Steve Aoki
About Dim Mak
In 1996, Steve Aoki founded DIM MAK and developed it into an influential independent record label, music and fashion lifestyle brand. Responsible for launching the careers of seminal acts such as Bloc Party, The Bloody Beetroots, The Chainsmokers, M.I.A., Keys N Krates, The Kills, and countless others, the independently owned DIM MAK has consistently pushed new musical movements via its staunch DIY ethos. As a fashion leader, Dim Mak cultivates community by bringing together collaborators from all walks of life including the likes of Hiroshi Fujiwara, Sanrio, and Playboy, to name a few. With nostalgic references toward his youth, Aoki often includes manga, music, and games into the Dim Mak aesthetics. Aoki named his record label and subsequent fashion brand “Dim Mak” as a nod to Bruce Lee’s signature fight move: the touch of death. With a back catalog hundreds of records deep, a history of legendary live events, and a fully formed clothing line, Dim Mak continues its global mission of promoting boundary-pushing music and culture ‘by any means necessary.’
